2005 Mosaico tasting notes
Spanish for "mosaic," our Mosaico is appropriately a blend. It is made of Merlot from Southern Monterey County and Syrah from the Edna Valley. This unique union brings together two very different regions. The climate in Southern Monterey County is quite warm while the Edna Valley is very much the opposite with its cool foggy days. Both regions deliver their individual distinct characteristics to the final blend. The result is a smooth, rich wine with a velvety texture. The wine finishes with flavors of blueberries, currants and blackberries with hints of anise, white pepper, and coffee.

This Sauvignon Blanc has a very pale platinum color with a particular and pleasing aroma that is both earthy and candied at once. It has lime and lemon notes as well as a haunting violet-like tone. There are underlying aromas of coriander and something reminiscent of pie crust. The mouth is very crisp and refreshing. It almost demands to be drunk with raw oysters.

2006 Syrah tasting notes

This transparent ruby red wine has an almost overwhelming aromatic nature. Syrah’s characteristic perfume of black pepper is present in abundance, as well as blueberry, cedar, tobacco, and East Indian spices. The palate is primarily ripe fruit with hints of black walnut and toast. It is fresh and poised delicately between the concentrated young fruit and the spicy tannins. It is sassy and full of itself in the most charming way.

2005 Edna Ranch Pinot Noir tasting notes

The color is dark ruby red without being inky or overly dense. A jammy red berry tone announces the aroma and is then backed up by many layers of complex undertones: cinnamon, tea leaf, bergamot, and fennel, with elements of vanilla and cola as well. The flavors are in harmony with the aroma.

2006 Estate Chardonnay tasting notes

A pale gold color is, as usual, the harbinger of quality. The aroma is warm and evokes honey on toast. The fruit character leans towards lemon with a hint of minerality. The textures in the mouth are more like Chablis than California Chardonnay and this wine finishes with classic notes of roasted hazelnut.

2004 Cabernet Sauvignon tasting notes
In keeping with Alsatian style of Pinot Gris, this wine exhibits traditional hints of a pine-resin character. Tropical and stone fruits jump from the glass, but are well balanced by a vibrant minerality that shows off a lemony acidity. The aim here was to keep to the pure Alsatian style. It pairs nicely with many foods, especially scallops drenched in herbed butter sauce.
